2025 Cross Stitch Review from Pointless Quilter

I had a busy year with cross stitching for sure.  I got a lot professionally framed this year at our local Hobby Lobby.  They have a girl there that actually laces the pieces, and she does a great job.  These are in no particular order.  If you need more information on any of the pieces, just email me and I'll get you the information.

The first piece I'll show was the 2024 Fox and Rabbit mystery which I finished at the beginning of the year and loved it so much it was worth framing.  It hangs near my ...

Just Finished from Kitty and Me Designs

I've been doing some stitching on my little 6 inch crazy quilt blocks and completed 2 more of them:

When I was packing up mom's clothes, I found this sweatshirt that I made for her years ago.  The little Chippy is cross stitched on the shirt using waste canvas.  I did a lot of sweatshirts back in the 90's!  Anyway, I decided to just cut out the little stitched piece and use it on a block.

The large maple leaf is a pin from Avon.  Remember, my mom sold Avon for years and years!  Anyway, I have ...

A Busy Stitching Day from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Yesterday was the day Debbie and I got together to stitch . . and talk and laugh and share things we had seen on flosstubes and whatever else caught our attention on YouTube. The dogs were up way early . . before 5 but I managed to go back to sleep until about 5:20 a.m....

Back to G. Leger from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

G. Leger is a project I started in February, 2022 with a couple of friends. I’m sure they’ve already finished but, of course, I have not finished. Here’s the photo I took when I started this project. This is how far I got that first day stitching on this piece. That is not much progress...

Improvising! from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Wednesdays are my stitching day with my friend, Debbie. We are both surprised at how similar our interests/thoughts are. Debbie likes to garden. She and her husband have two dogs. We’re almost exactly the same age – less than two months difference. We pretty much likes the same foods. She even drinks Dr. Pepper! We...

The Liberty Quaker – Finished from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I think I’ve lost track of my finishes for this year. This may be number 9. This is The Liberty Quaker by Samplers Primitive. It’s stitched on a 32 count XJu fabric. I used Ginnie Thompson Flower Thread and kinda matched the colors. I made some changes as I was stitching. I do see a...

Basil Overload from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Yesterday afternoon we had a thunderstorm coming our way. There was a chance of hail and I wanted to get more basil freeze dried and in jars so I went out and cut the basil off two plants. It has gotten so huge. Why can I grow tons of basil and and cannot grow lavender?...

Let Freedom Ring Progress from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

It’s time to put this project away for a few days. I’m loving it though stitching those trees, which aren’t not finished, was not so much fun. I’m not much on confetti stitching and even though the trees probably are not truly confetti stitching, they seemed like it to me. You know where I wanted...

Mary Bovee Finished & Ready to Frame from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

This morning I finished the last few stitches on Mary Bovee Sampler. This project was started on June 25 and finished on July 26. That’s pretty good for me.  When I finish a project, I use scrap thread to mark where I want the frame to go so it’s easier to get it laced straight...

Mary Bovee Almost Finished from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Technically, today is Friday because it’s 1:30 a.m. I did take a nap yesterday (Thursday) so I was able to stay up later and stitch. I do believe before the clock strikes midnight, Miss Mary Bovee will be finished! What I have left to stitch: Finish the plant above the berry basket on the right...

Philly Cheesesteak Casserole – Recommend! from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Philly Cheesesteak Casserole was one of the recipes on my list for this week. It is one of the best recipes I’ve made in a long time! It made enough that we had it for leftovers a second day and still had enough for the freezer. You can make it right by the recipe and...

Let Freedom Ring Progress from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

One of the things I did this week to make tracking my progress easier was to make myself a little spreadsheet, of sorts, and I think it will work well. This plan is working so well for me so far. Basically, here’s how I set it up. Each week is 7 days (not my original...

Wednesday Stitching Progress from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

Yesterday was my day to go to Nevada, MO to stitch with Debbie. We tend to spend a good bit of the morning talking. It’s so fun to have a stitching friend! We share things we’ve seen on YouTube, flosstube, things we’ve read, watched on TV, stories about our dogs (we both have two spoiled...

Progress on Mary Bovee from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

I stitched but didn’t really make much progress. In the photo above, I had stitched q – z but I also stitched a – p and then decided the pink variegated thread wasn’t showing up well enough so I ripped that all out and stitched with a peachy pink. It’s still light and not bold...

More Potatoes from a Tub from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

There are only two or three grow bags with potatoes in them. In the lately spring/early summer, I planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and potatoes in all the mineral tubs I have. Then I found a small bag of seed potatoes I had purchased so I planted 5 or 6 grow bags (30 gallon size) with...

The New Project and the New Tablet from Patchwork Times by Judy Laquidara

First, the new tablet. This is the tablet I ordered. Right off the bat, let me say this table was $49. It isn’t an iPad! But, all I needed was a tablet to use on Wednesday when I’m stitching with Debbie. It will stay in my stitching bag all the time except on Wednesday! The...
